What social media formats are the most successful these days?
Twitter is super popular with young adults, TikTok is popular with highschool and junior high students and surprisingly middle aged people, Instagram is popular with everyone. I think TikTok is really taking off, whether you like it or not, (I am honestly not a fan, it just seems like a more cringey vine).
Has Facebook and Instagram been able to keep up and adapt to the changes in social media.
I think Instagram has kept up and adapted to changes in social media pretty well. There are still the occasional updates that everyone hates, but for the most part it is keeping a younger audience on the website. Facebook still has a pretty strong user base, but it is mostly older.
What new media helps best maintain the integrity of journalism?
Youtube helps maintain the integrity of journalism the best out of all of the new forms of media. You can upload almost any video onto Youtube so videos from newsworthy events often end up on Youtube first. Live Streaming on Youtube is also possible so live streaming of important events is common. Regular TV news stations are also able to post onto Youtube so when important events happen they often end up on the trending page of Youtube. Trending important news helps more people become aware of a newsworthy event.
